I will present preliminary results on our efforts to uncover the two-dimensional stellar mass distributions of bright submillimetre galaxies (SMGs) at z~2 in the COSMOS and GOODS-S fields, which have been observed both with HST and ALMA. Through utilizing multi-band HST/WFC3 imaging, we are able to derive robust stellar mass maps. This allows us to go beyond the interpretation of SMG morphology based on optical light distributions alone and provides us for the first time with a powerful combination to directly compare the spatial distribution of assembled stars and ongoing star formation on ~kpc scales for distant SMGs.
